"Every house where love abides
And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest."

Nesting.....

Remember this tray that I got out and started using for a primitive country look to my dining room table? I gave it a simple look again now for spring. I switched the cloth to a piece of bobbin lace with butterflies and kept the candlestick. I added a birdhouse, bird and nest with eggs.

Simplicity to celebrate spring!

I found this quote online and feel like it is something I could have said myself being such a homebody. In Holland, we say you are a sparrow and the Dutch for sparrow has the word home in it - "huismus"...

"I'm such a girl for the living room. I really like to stay in my nest and not move. I travel in my mind, and that that's a rigorous state of journeying for me. My body isn't that interested in moving from place to place."
~ Bell Hooks

Boy, do we ever know that is true.
Eric just said he would probably never see you again, and that is very sad for a brother to say.
I like your little display, very cute.
Love you, Mom

Beautiful post, I love being in my own surroundings. I do get out and about but I am comfortable and at peace in my home.

I like this quote at the end. I think I'd love traveling but my body tires so easily and with my health issues it just plain hurts to overdo, so I guess I love the "thought" of traveling. :) Your home seems to be so cozy and welcoming and I really enjoy seeing the new ways you change it up. Hope the sun is shining on you today!

P.S. My Bailee just turned two! She grew up on me all of the sudden. Navie is now walking and I can't believe how fast she grew. I got sick for a few weeks and couldn't really be around them as I didn't want them to catch it and they just up and grew up!

Love that quote. It suits me too and while I would love to join you for tea or a quilting bee- I am just not a travelor

I love your pretty Spring vignette. I've always loved just being at home but I do like to travel as well and happily I'm able to do both:)

As always, a beautiful arrangement.

I've traveled quite a bit in the past, but I'm very content to be at home and listen to the travel adventures of my children and grandchildren.
