"Every house where love abides
And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest."

A Caterpillar life for him.....

Anyone who spends time with Jos realizes that there is a great sense of humor under his serious exterior. He keeps my family laughing. He used to have to travel to America once a year for his work. A couple of years ago, he came home and unpacked his suitcase showing me what he bought while he was there. He proudly showed me his new boots. He had worn out his previous pair and needed some new ones. But these shoes were from the construction equipment company Cat. He loves these work boots and wears them every day, any season...well not with his suits he wears daily to work mind you. *wink* You see his job has nothing to do with Cat bulldozers or anything of the sort.

It started to become a joke that he would lift up his pant legs and tell me to look at his Cats, even in public. My mother and I laugh our heads off at him. Did I tell you that I am married to a lovable nut? *grins* Whenever we see one of these bulldozers parked, I ask him if we should buy it to match his shoes.

So when we were in the grocery store Lidl today, he found these. They only had one pack left in his size. PERFECT! Home they came to match his shoes...

See! I snapped this photo of him last year when he was teasing me again while we were at the open air museum here in Holland. I think he might have liked to take the truck was standing beside home too. They don't make them like this anymore.....him or the truck. *grins*

Him or the truck, ohhhhhhhhhhhhh so true. When you first got together, he was sooooo serious, I thought oh no, he is not going to fit into this family. Guess what, he did and he does. He is a real true nut and I don't care what he says, more of him than his feet is going to appear on my blog for his birthday. Coming soon Jos, your gift is in the mail.
You said only one pair of socks, but you show three??????
Love you both, oh and also Dagi.

Of the couples that I know that have good marriages, a sense of fun and humor seem to be a good part of that.
It's always good to laugh!!

HAHA, You really are a perfect match. Jos and his Cat shoes(and now socks..), and you and a BIG tractor.

Hi Heidi! Your hubby is one funny guy! But one can not blame a guy for liking his boots (and socks!) as they are very important indeed.

I hope all is well with you. Have you sold your house now? I recall you having bought a new one back in March... have you moved in yet?

Time flies so fast, my favourite season is nearly over, and now we are fast heading into your favourite season. But I have, in fact, learned to love autumn too, and am quite looking forward to its arrival.

Take care!

How fun!!!! The story about Jos and his boots and now socks is great. There is nothing in this world like sharing a good joke and having a good laugh...especially with the one you are married too. Have a good week my friend.

This story makes one smile! And the foto of his legs did that even more. Now you should 'catch' him on a picture wearing both socks and shoes. LOL!

....anyway...I love the fact that norwegian and dutch are so similar! This summer when we had Janneke and her husband as visitors at our cabin, we talked a lot about that.

Funny story Heidi...my husband can get very attached to certain articles of clothing too. He has some T-shirts he wears around the house which are full of stains and holes but I dare not get rid of them. He still will not get rid of his John F Kennedy high school P.E. shorts - he will never fit into them again but he keeps them just the same! I am excited for you getting the new home ready. :)
