We had planned to drive to Germany and go to a Christmas market but the traffic jams were too bad and we decided to go to the city center instead. Here is one of the medieval city gates in Amersfoort. I took this photo as we walked into the city boundries.
Coming home the snow was melting slightly but still looked beautiful in our garden. Tonight, there is a light snowfall again. Don't you just love the look of freshly fallen snow?
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.

Hi Heidi
There's nothing prettier than freshly fallen snow. I don't know if we'll get any this year or not.
Hugs, Rhondi
Well, that certainly is beautiful. I am soooooooo happy you have it and we do not. If we never get it, it will be just fine.
I still have tons to do to get ready so I can leave on Monday morning at 5am on Amtrak. We have to get up about 2 to go to Cleveland to get the train.
Your city wall looks so pretty too.
Love you, Mom
Such a beautiful snow fall! And, I LOVE Robert Frost!!
Beautifull!!!

Snow makes everything look clean and bright! It makes for a nice Christmasy scene!
Heidi, please keep the snow there, at least until after the holidays to assist the travelers such as your Mom and us! We are off tomorrow to show Jasmin NYC readying for Christmas - it will be frigid but Bob treated us to fur-lined, waterproof boots - hardly dainty but definitely practical!
Sorry you missed you trip to Germany but I know you had fun around town without the hassle of dangerous driving.
You and Jos have a blessed Christmas and all good wishes for the coming year. Bob and I think of you both and still hope to meet you in Holland some day.
Love, Mary.
Yes the snow does look beautiful when it has just fallen, my back garden looks wonderful with the gardenlight. It is 10.30pm here and the youngsters from foreign lands are out playing in it, I should imagine some of them have never seen it before.
I love the music on your blog.
Wish you well tomorrow at the hospital.

Up here in the North we have about 30 cm's of snow, and it looks like it's going to stay for a while. It looks pretty, but I'm pretty scared of driving in it, so I'm staying home.

Hello Heidi, I love to see fresh snow as it makes everything sparkle. Even the first picture has an added charm to it, and I like the way you took your coming home picture. Very pretty!

Heidi,
These pictures are amazing. Your little garden looks like a Christmas card and i absolutely adore the Robert Frost poem. I had not come across it before. You always introduce me to new enriching experiences. I love the first song playing. it creates such a wonderful atmosphere.

Beautiful....and I love the poem.

Ik geniet er altijd van om de Koppelpoort te zien (meestal vanuit de trein); schilderachtige plaatjes met die sneeuw! Geniet ervan!!
I love your photos Heidi, and I love Robert Frost's poems too. I'm so glad you share some of your world with us.
Blessings,
Marcia
Our garden looks like that today too!

Happy Holidays Heidi, the snowfall looks just so beautiful.
Hey Heidi,
I love snow but we see so little of it here.
Your pictures are so beautiful. Yes, snow makes everything look peaceful and clean and serene to me.
