We have been on vacation this month in the charming mediaeval city of Quedlinburg in Germany's Harz region. Come take a walk with me and we can explore the doors and see what they say to us...
This door is quite elegant. There must be a graceful lady living behind it?
This door needs some major tender loving care. This home is for sale so will you be the one to love it back to life?
A door inside a castle dating back to the 900s made of iron. If only this door could talk! Yes, I did say 900s which means this door has seen many people and much history...
' The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live.'
~ Flora Whittemore
Never were wiser words spoken. So perhaps we should think more before we open or shut a door each day.
A door to a tower...and we are choosing a new front door among the shopping list for things for our new home. I will be sharing my wish list and some items we bought soon. I think it is going to be fun to decorate around my new front door and make it say 'Welcome!'.

My favorites are the first and last doors. Very nice. I think most people, (I know I for one) take doors for granted. Leave it to you to really pay attention to them.
Have fun at the cottage this weekend, hope your weather is good, ours is great right now.
Love you, Mom
You could add your own gardendoor to this list of beauties! And maybe the door of your new home?
Hi Heidi,
I love doors too. Remember the pictures I took in Antwerpen, the doors with all the little figures on it? André and the girls think I'm mad (which I am of course ;) when looking at doors, tiles, uithangborden etc...
Have a great weekend & hugs, Carolien
P.S. About refreshments on Wednesday: does everyone bring 'something' or so? I'll take some mini gevulde koeken with me, o.k.?
Isnt it amazing what we see if we make time to stop. The doors are all so different.
I can't wait till I see your new door. Can't wait till mine is with new beautiful green paint and old grill. Still am looking for that though. And you know I'm a little curious girl... but... is Carolien going to be on the quilt evening?? I really would like that!
I loved all the beautiful doors. We don't have any around here like that, but I sure enjoyed seeing yours.
Blessings,
Marcia
Dear Heidi,
It is so good to find you again!
Lovely, lovely doors...enjoyed seeing them :)
I love details like your door photos. It's not so much cold as wet here. I managed to get a walk in today anyway. Linda
Hi, Heidi! Thanks so much for visiting, and you're welcome home wishes. :o) It's good to be back in blogland after our own vacation. Fun to be catching up on your posts. And especially love this spotlight on the beauty of doors. Enjoy your vacation and be keeping well. :o) ((HUGS))
