"Every house where love abides
And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest."

Love is in the air.....

It is almost Valentine's Day and our home has reminders to celebrate the heart throughout our living room...

A vintage wooden trough full of heart made for me or given to me as gifts by various friends.

A book containing beautiful words of love given as an anniversary gift from my sister....

Chocolate and raspberry colored quilt I made which I called 'A Box of Chocolates'...

A Valentine's tree adds a twinkle of light...

I wish I could remember that first day,
First hour, first moment of your meeting me,
If bright or dim the season, it might be
Summer or Winter for aught that I can say;
So unrecorded did it slip away,
So blind was I to see and to foresee,
So dull to mark the budding of my tree
That would not blossom yet for many a May.
If only I could recollect it, such
A day of days! I let it come and go
As traceless as a thaw of bygone snow;
It seemed to mean so little, meant so much;
If only now I could recall that touch,
First touch of hand in hand.--Did one but know!

by Christina Rossetti

Sweet words of long lasting and true love...

'Mended Hearts' quilt with a wooden dough bowl of more fabrics hearts...

Valentine's day is a time to remember more than just our husbands, wives or sweethearts. It is a time to also say to all those we care about how special they are to us. I wish each of you who read my blog a Happy Valentine's Day!

What lovely heart decorations. I'm not doing anything. Maybe I'll get inspired to do more at Valentines Day. I give the gd's candy and that's about it. So sad. My only excuse is that my birthday is the 12th and I guess I'm thinking more about that. We have a lot of birthdays at this time of year.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's always good to hear from you. Linda

Well Happy Birthday to you too. Enjoy your trip. I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the crochet too. I'm finding so many colorful patterns. I think I'm going to have to start using cheaper yarn to indulge my new hobby. It just gets too expensive using the good stuff. I meant to say in my email I loved visiting Amersterdam many years ago. I have a lovely painting of the houses along the canals. I post it on my blog next time. Linda

I enjoyed seeing the transformation of your rock garden. It looks so peaceful and calm. Your Valentine tree is so pretty with the soft glow of the white lights. I hope you and Jos have a nice Valentine's Day together.

Your Valentine's Day decorations are lovely. I had plans to decorate, but got discouraged by the less than enthusiastic response from my family. I'm also exhausted and hurting, so I'll just think about those decorations. I did finish a paper crafting project for my hubby tonight, and embroidered two designs that I plan to turn into small wall hangings for my children.

Hello friend! How are you doing?
I haven't checked blogs in so long. I miss you!

I am longing for spring to arrive! All this snow is driving me mad (and you know I haven't very far to go! LOL)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Liefs, Bep.

Beautiful entry.
I remember you as a little girl making your special Valentine Box each year to take to school.
Okay, I know, you are still a little girl only now you make your Valentines out of fabric.
Love you, Mom
On the 12th, I was thinking of the day you were born at 6:12 AM.

What a beautiful poem by Christina Rossetti. What could be more romantic than that especially when presented with a beautiful heart ornament tree and some pretty heart quilting.
You create such lovely cameos :>)
