"Every house where love abides
And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest."

White roses and lace

Yesterday I spent a fun day with my good friend Bep. We went to a large indoor fabric market. So many wonderful fabrics, trims, buttons... Can you overdose on seeing such wonderful things? *wink* We also walked into the village shopping street and visited a couple of shops to look at yarn among other things. Then before leaving, we had to stop in at a store called Action. It is a wonderful discount store. I bought this tray.

When I got home, I immediately started playing with things to put on it on my dining room table. The nice thing about it all being on a table is that you simply slide the tray aside when it is time to set the table for dinner.

I put some of the things I love on the tray...lace, a lacy looking pot and ball, silver heart keyring, a candle and my white miniature roses I recently bought.

There are so many rosebuds on these plants and now all we need is a little sun to make them open.

Walking past this tray and seeing these things make me smile. I hope you have things in your home that make you smile too?

that last picture gives a good shot of your room. You can see all the way outside.
I love those roses, they are so pretty. It is nice to just move the tray. You had something like that on when I was there too.
I love Action, it is like our Marcs.
Fun store.
Have fun with your yarn finds.

Wanted to say I got the post card. Thankyou so much. I posted a photo of the picture I got in Amersterdam while we were there. Yes I went to the museum with the Rembrant and the Van Gogh museum. The post card brings it all back. Linda

Een leuk uitje lijkt me dat, ik heb het helaas nog nooit bezocht.
Mooi gestyled op je nieuwe dienblad. Het wordt tijd dat ik weer eens naar die winkel ga.
Fijn weekend, groetjes

That's a really good find...I like how you've arranged everything on your tray. And NO you can never have too much browsing of fabrics, trims and buttons!

What a lovely and calming effect all the lace and white color makes. It makes me feel peaceful just to see the photos.

Love your tray! What is it made of? Using mostly white accessories on it is just perfect. How I would love to go to a fabric market! When we were in Pennsylvania last summer, my daughter Sarah and I went to a fabric outlet store. It was nearly the highlight of our trip. So glad you had such a delightful day!!

I sure wish you could come to my house and help me with decorating around my house. I would have never thought of using a tray this way!

I also have some other Little House Book, a Treasury, a cookbook and so on. I'm not sure if I'll read everything I have. I'm racing through the Little House books. I'm really enjoying them and it's been too cold to go anywhere. Reading about all those blizzards makes me colder though. lol. The tv show is a lot different I'm not sure if I'd like the mags or not. I've never heard of them, but the series seems to be getting more popular again so maybe I'll hear about them here. Linda

Hi, Heidi! LOVELY new look here... and love all the white and cream in this post. You have a gift and an eye for the beautiful! As I'm doing a spruce-up in our kitchen I could use some of your decorating expertise. ;o) So very nice to see you stopped by my place yesterday. I'm slower to visiting these days too, and posting less. More real life at the moment, which is a good thing. ;o) Be taking good care there... Happy Days ((HUGS))

Heidi, the indoor fabric market sounds wonderful. I can imagine you did not leave empty handed. How lovely to spend time with Bep too.

I love the pretty bargain tray. You have worked your magic on it as usual and created a very pleasing centrepiece.
The mini roses are beautiful.

What a wonderful idea to make a display on a tray so that it's easy to move at meal time. I will have to remember that - and keep my eyes open for a beautiful tray!

Have been reading back through the posts I've missed lately - life is very busy! I've just returned from a trip to California which was great fun.

Heidi, I love all you are doing with your beautiful new home...........from the posh bathroom to the pebble garden. A lot of work but as you say, worth the time and effort.

I love that tray you found- trays are useful for so many things.

Happy weekend dear - we have Spring weather already and it's lovely.

Hugs - Mary
