My favorite season has begun! I just love everything about this time of year...
...the cool, crisp air...
...the warm colors...
...the fact that trees become like flowers...
...comforting foods like eating warm English custard to warm you inside...
...the smell of autumn in the air...
...the sounds of a crackling fire...
I finally started doing my autumn decorating. For me this is late but I have not been able to do it before now. I decorate the top of the television with my 'plumpkins' and grape leaves.
It is wonderful to get out my autumn themed quilts once again. I think I need to start another one soon as I just adore these colors.
My coffee table has another quilt on it with a stitched middle section. I enjoy combining my hobbies. A fun decorating idea is to use a framed card (enlarge the photo to see the framed card in the tray). The one in the tray is one I received from my sweet Aunt Janey who passed away years ago. I loved the card and framed it. Now I remember her each autumn when I get this out.
A gold leaf dish with two handmade acorn pincushions adorn my seachest to give it a subtle autumn touch.
We spent some of our vacation working on repairing our walls from the water damage we had with the leak in the kitchen. I decided to use this chance to change some things around. This used to be my quilt wall. I decided to bring all my fox hunt prints together on this wall now. An addition of some leaf garland adds a touch of fall.
Simple but effective with a piece of 'poor man's silver' in the form of an acorn laid in a plant. The pocket-watch was Jos' grandfather's. It no longer works but we have it as a memento as he dearly loved his grandfather.
A pretty autumn dish sits next to my laptop on my desk.
The woodstove will be in full use now. I did this charcoal drawing many years ago. I placed it with some faux maple leaves to celebrate the season.
How are you celebrating the season?
I missed joining in on Rhondi's Welcome Fall party. She has many links on her blog to welcome autumn in blogland.

Missing something important here, the tree is not on here yet. I know you have it up now.
I love the way you put your hunt pictures. They look great and a nice change for your room. I missed the card. My mini skips so fast when I don't have the mouse on. I will have to look later. Both of your quilt/combined stitched pieces are sooo nice.
I don't have anything out except a blessed be pinkeep I got from Barbara. I have to get the little pillow out she made too. I have tons of things in the attic. Oh well.
Love you, Mom
I love the way so many people decorate for Autumn. Your quilt is so pretty.
Pretty, pretty....your welcome to fall is wonderful! This is a favorite time of year for me too but we are still have summer like weather...can hardly wait for the change. I love the way you have saved the precious card from your auntie....I'd love to do that too....thank you for sharing all your wonderful ideas. Your wreath header sure looks pretty, I have the instructions, hope to creature one some day.
Loved seeing your vacation pictures, looks like you had a happy time...hugs, Linda
Everything looks so nice at your place, Heidi. Your quilts are so pretty and I like your charcoal drawing too. You possess many talents! I like what you did with the card. What a nice way to keep someone's memory alive.
Wat weet jij het telkens weer mooi te maken in jullie huis! Petje af! Elk seizoen weer opnieuw!
Hello my friend
The touches you've added to your home for fall give it such a warm cosy feeling. I love the quilt and table runner. Thanks for joining the party. Sorry there was no pie left by the time you got here!

When can I come for a visit? I love your decorations!
Dag Heidi
Dat ziet er allemaal weer heel gezellig uit! Vorig jaar was ik al helemaal weg van je mooie pompoenen en wilde ze ook maken. Tot nu toe is het er nog niet van gekomen. Misschien moet ik maar eens aan de slag. Groetjes, Elly
Your decorating is so beautiful Heidi, I just love visiting via your blog. I especially like your little quilt with the stitching in the center.
Happy Autumn and Hugs
Hi Heidi,

Groetjes, Annelies
Hi, love all your autumn decorations. We're really busy with all the fruit, making jam and pies etc. Noreen's given me some more damsons, so I'll make MORE jam!

Fantastisch je herfstsfeer! Ook je pumpkins I want to pick them...hihihi, love Cindy x
Heidi, I just love the touches of Autumn around your cozy home. The floral grouping of roses and blackberries is so beautiful; your group of hunt scenes lovely; your quilts of course are amazing - so much work especially in the one with stitched center.. I love everything and now await some Autumn days around here. A storm passed by last evening and the temp. has certainly dropped this morning - a breath of fresh air when I opened the door, lovely.
Hope all is well dear - thinking of you. Rain this weekend enabled lots of toadstools to pop up around the gardens along our street - and that of course always says "Heidi in Holland" to me.
Warm hugs - Mary.
I too am stitching on an autumn colours quilt today as the leaves change colour and tumble down. My autumn activities are gradually moving 4 cords of winter firewood into my woodshed and preparing some beds to plant bulbs. I am burning a lovely pumpkin spice votive candle I received in a lucky draw sponsored by Heidi Keisand' blog - http://www.heidikeisand.com - thanks Heidi!!!
Your pictures are just lovely - enjoy the season!!
beautiful pictures, Heidi, you are so talented, your pumpkin drawing is amazing.
