"Every house where love abides
And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home sweet home
For there the heart can rest."

You love the roses - so do I...

Flowers can be portrayed by Mother Nature but also in words as with this poem by George Eliot. I find words sometimes smell even sweeter than sight. I have found this year that I am very addicted to reading. Seeing a film is bland compared to the words written on the page. Are you doing any summer reading?

"You love the roses - so do I. I wish
The sky would rain down roses, as they rain
From off the shaken bush. Why will it not?
Then all the valley would be pink and white
And soft to tread on. They would fall as light
As feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be
Like sleeping and like waking, all at once!"

~ George Eliot

We recently found out that my mother has stage two breast cancer. She will be going for surgery on July 22nd. Many of you visit her blog as well as mine and I thank you for your support and prayers.

The roses are very pretty. The poem also. Yep, surgery is July 22nd and hope you come to grips with my choice soon. I listened to the doctor and so did George before I chose the lumpectomy. I will pray for Angels to be with me that day. I love you.
Hugs and Kisses, Mom

Hi Heidi
I am so sorry to hear your mother has cancer. I'll be praying for her. I know so many women who have had positive outcomes with their breast cancer and I'm sure she will be fine too. I'll go visit your mom right now.
Hugs, Rhondi

What a beautiful poem Heidi, and I can just smell the fragrance of the roses after the petals get crushed underneath my feet ;-)

All the best for your mum in these difficult days, I'll remember her in my prayers.

Hugs
Brigitta

Heidi,

Words fail me at the moment, my thoughts are both with you and your mom!
I was going to fire of a mail with my reading progress etc, as you so kindly required after it a few days ago, but that seems hardly appropriate now.
I will post about it soon.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your mother.

Hugs,

Caroline

Still curious about the children's book you were reading though...
