Since we live in a house built right in the water, it is fun to open my window and feed the ducks. It feels like they are our pets. This mother had 9 little ducklings but there is only one with her now. I hope the others did exactly what is said in this little child's rhyme and nothing else bad became of them...
Paddle little ducks,
Paddle, paddle all day;
Paddle little ducks,
Paddle, paddle away.
Five little ducks paddling to shore,
One paddled away, then there were four;
Four little ducks paddling toward me,
One paddled away, then there were three;
Three little ducks paddling toward you,
One paddled away, then there were two;
Two little ducks paddling in the sun,
One paddled away, then there was none!
Paddle little ducks,
Paddle, paddle all day;
Paddle little ducks,
Paddle, paddle away.

Oh, how sweet! What fun to have ducks by the window.
Oh, I know how you hang out the window and feed the ducks. I hope they are ok, but they are tooooooo little to leave their Mommy. Well, so are you, but look where you are. Hummmmmmmmm.
Love you, Mom
They are just ADORABLE! and well fed I'm sure...lucky you and lucky ducks! :-)
Hugs2u!
I love watching baby ducks. You are so lucky to be able to see them grow.
I love all water birds, ducks including. But wild ducks here are so elusive and extremely shy.
There is the beautiful white-breasted water hen. Her chicks are usually black when they are still in their downs.
Then there is the beautiful Purple coot..its colour is just like it has just been painted by some artists!
Our wild quails...they are so small but the males are quite charming to look at.
I can remember the ducks you had last year when we visited, this little family are so sweet and do hope they have all survived.
Your Mum is in my thoughts and prayers and for you as well Heidi, for I know what good friends you are as well as Mum and Daughter.
Love Hazel UK)
What a cute family picture, we have little ducks at the houseboat and I love to feed them too...hugs, Linda
Let's hope they are OK - I get so nervous when they're little and vulnerable. Do they have any predators hanging around those waterways Heidi?
Cute poem - you always find appropriate ones.
Hope things are going well and that you read my e-mail. Thinking of you as always and hoping you get to visit Cranberry Cottage this weekend.
Hugs, Mary.
