We took a nice walk today at the Dwingelderveld National Park. Just a short walk as the north wind was really blowing. We went from the visitors center to the Ruiner sheep herd and barns. They had just been out in the heather fields and the herder was bringing them back into the barn. It is a busy time as it is lambing season. Just look and listen to all those lambs in the front barn.....
After our walk, we stopped at De Huiskamer in Ansen for our Sunday sip. It was a bowl of Drentse mustard soup with thin slices of authentic Drentse droge worst (spicy dry sausage). The combination of flavors was so tasty. They served it with warm bread. My sip? A glass of Sauvignon Blanc while Jos had a beer fresh from the tap. Just the thing to warm us up.....
What are you sipping this Sunday?

Probably water, lol. The lambs are 50 Dagis all in one place. Dagi would say get them out of here.
The soup looks good.
Love you, Mom
Okay I'm sitting in front on my computer on Sunday morning with my habitual Diet Coke. I guess that's not very "sunday sip-ish" LOL.
Well I'm having herb tea ginger and peppermint. Those lambs were noisy, but cute. The lunch sounded devine. Thanks for taking us along. I'll have to look up mustard soup and see if anything comes up. Was it spicy?
Just to let you know it came up on About.com Dutch Foods. They had a recipe. There were several things that came up including places you could buy Mustard Soup.
Oy! That mustard soup just made my glass of milk so tasteless!
Sounds like a beautiful way to spend a quiet Sunday-------afraid I am just sipping ice tea. Hugs
