This first day of March and the start of the meteorological spring. Small changes are taking place in our home. I am washing my sheets only to make my bed up with my spring and summer quilt today. I also have put out my St. Patrick's Day decorations.
My small dough bowl in the living room has two of my shamrocks with a March pinkeep I made. I thought it was fun to keep the ones with the text 'Kiss me...I'm Irish' separate.
In the entrance way, the large dough bowl holds the other five calico shamrocks and a green faux wreath. It is definitely shamrock love in my home. *grins*
My prim display has the addition of a little wooden shamrock that my sister made for me.
Yes...spring is in the air. It is getting darker later and later and there is a feeling that the garden wants to spring forth but still sleeps. Soon...very soon.
"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade."
~ Charles Dickens

Besides the warm weather, there are definite signs of spring here too. The best one being the longer days! Love the touches of March you've brought into your home.
It is all just lovely! I definitely feel spring in your home.
Such a lovely idea Heidi, I like your idea about seasonal themes. Thankyou for your advice about the quilt and will try and get around to starting one soon.
Spring is definiately in the air in N. Texas. The Bradford Pear trees are in full bloom---one month early. Love the St. Pat's decorations. Hugs
Well, March is coming in fairly quietly today in Ohio. It is sort of gloomy and only in the 40's, but it could be worse so not complaining.
Our daffys are trying to pop up now. Guess Spring might come after all.
Your shamrocks look very cute once again. Wish I had your energy to decorate for all these holidays. I might if I had my great grands here. They are too far away in Arizona.
Love you, Mom
Lovely post, Heidi! I just love the calico shamrocks. They are so pretty.
Such pretty things you have placed about your home.
I love the quote by Charles Dickens...how true about the weather we have now. We are still not use to daily temps in the 30F-50F.
I love how nature tells us its spring. One day you walk outside and, TA-DA, signs of spring everywhere.
blessings, jilly
I can't wait. We've been having snow. I did remove one of the blankets from my bed.
I love your shamrocks! I don't have any St Patrick day decorations. I always buy a shamrock plant to display in my living room though - I think they're so cute!
Love to see your latest decorating ideas. I definitely can relate to the quotation here in southwest Ohio - bright sun and cold wind.

Ja hoor, de lente komt.
Er staan overal sneeuwklokjes en crocussen en de narcissen doen hun best om het daglicht te aanschouwen.
Ik verheug mij op droger weer en zonneschijn.
Liefs Bep.
I have always loved your decorating ideas. This one looks so pretty. Since a couple of days I also feel spring coming and I'm so inspired by the warmth outside to get some spring sttching started.
Nice thoughts and photos of spring. Love the Dickens quote.
