The man who was installing them came to do his job. Jos and I were bringing some of the packaging outside when I saw this...
I said to Jos why is it wet here and we followed the drips up the staircase only to discover that the man who put our freshly painted radiators back on earlier that day had not tightened the connection properly to the one in the bathroom. By the time we discovered the water, the bathroom was completely flooded.
We rushed to start cleaning it up only then did Bep and I realize that the water was seeping through the grooves of the newly laid laminate floor.
It all had to be pulled up including the under floor which was soaked through in the hall and into the bedroom.
So where I should be showing you some photos of the guest room looking really nice, I now have a huge mess again. So forgive me while I indulge in some great hatred for Murphy tonight!
Another gross photo of the freezer door when the kitchen front was removed to pull out the built in appliance. Again, at risk of repeating myself...how can anyone have lived in such filth?
Please pray for this to start going smoothly for a change. We need to see the tides turn now for us. In two weeks, we have to move from our home to this one and I am not even sure I want to live there now. Tomorrow the new floor will start to be laid so all your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Well, I sure will be praying that it will all get better for you NOW. That workman must have not been concentrating at all. Bet he is not happy with himself right now.
All I can say is, sure happy you are getting a new fridge
Remember the song, "The sun will come up TOMORROWWWWWW"
Love you, Mom
Oh Heidi I am so sorry all this is happening to you but like your Mum says The sun will come out to-morrow and in a few weeks time you will have a nice new home.
Take things easy Heidi you don't want to be ill.
Love Hazel (UK)
I'm sending good wishes from Arizona Heidi! Things have just got to start looking up SOON! I hope you or Jos has some words or compensation from that worker who caused you all water issues. I would be calling whoever is in charge there - maybe at least you can get a refund on whatever you paid them. I really dislike dealing with home repairs etc. We are in the early stages of contracting work to remodel our bathrooms and I dread it - there is always stress involved with these big home projects! I'll be watching for a photo of the NEW REFRIGERATOR!
hugs, Jeanne
Oh my goodness, Heidi..I would be a puddle in the floor myself having to deal with Murphy as much as you have. I'm so sorry, and I pray things will be looking up from here on out.
Oh Heidi, I'm so sorry you're going through all this. I wish I could give you a hug. And I hope that negligent contractor pays for all the repairs! I'm thankful that you and Jos were there. It could have been so much worse had it not been discovered until later.
It amazes me what conditions people find acceptable. People are different, true, but I never thought they were THAT different.
Ugh, Heidi...I just can't believe all this! I hope that things will start going well for you soon and that this will all be put behind you...
And finally there will be a post that says, "Yes, I am happy we live here!" :-)
Oh dear Heidi, I'm so sorry it's been so hard. I will be praying, and I will remember too...you see, that's my last name :-) Don't worry, I don't take it personally...we don't like that law around here either!
Blessings~
Marcia
Ok, can I just say that we are two peas in a pod...while all this was going on...you went and got your camera because you were thinking about your blog! LOVE IT! Good luck....so that Murphy was misbehaving today!
You're right, this isn't even remotely funny. I'll be praying for things to start going your way. You've certainly been through enough.
Cindy
Eugh, Heidi, I am SO sorry you and Jos have to go through all this! Sending good thoughts your way. En ik zal voor jullie duimen :o)
Liefs,
Annemarie.
Hopefully six months from now when you, Jos and Dagi are sitting in your wonderful new living room in your gorgeous new home, you will think that what you are now experiencing was nothing short of a bad dream.
Hugs to the both of you, Heidi. No one deserves to be going through this. I'm certain that you can't see it now but everything will work out for the best.
Oei! Murphy is teasing you in a hard, not funny way! You didn't sign the contract of your house on Friday the 13th right?, right??
I love how Kaaren thinks, in 6 months you look back at this as a bad ugly dream.
Can't be there to help you, as I hoped I could be, but i'm thinking of you guy's! Great that Bep can help you a lot!!
knuffels to you, Jos and Bep too
I say we kick Murphy to the moon or further. Good grief! What more can happen? You are certainly in my thoughts, more often than you know. It is time for things to start going right with your house!
Heidi, I am so sorry you have been having so many problems with your new home. We know there IS an end in sight and you will love it when it is done......stay rested and well.
Oh Heidi, it just seems to go from bad to worse. I'm so sorry. I do hope that you are getting compensation from the workman who left the water on.
I'll be praying for you.
Sending really good vibes to you and really bad ones to Murphy who can be a real pain in the butt! The new house is going to be just gorgeous and I'm praying for you and Jos to get moved in safely and on time! Hugs to you!!
Sterkte! Tot liefs, see you soon.
Well for what it's worth, doesn't sound like things can get much worse dear so hopefully it will all come together, problems will be resolved, and you'll be ready for your move soon!
So sorry you're having to go through all of this. Did you have the property inspected before deciding to purchase?
Meanwhile, that sweet Dagi must really wonder why his life is a bit topsy-turvy........hope all gets better soon and the three of you get moved, settled, and have a great Winter ahead in your new home.
Love and hugs - Mary (and Bob)
I've been following your renovation saga from the beginning and I hope that Murphy will finally move on. You deserve it. But believe me, I can relate to it. I could write a book about the time when we had our house built as well.
Hopefully the new floor got laid without problems. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm so sorry that your troubles are getting worse instead of better! What is wrong with workmen these days that they only half do there jobs? I'll be sending good thoughts your way for better things to come.
Heidi:
I hope that Murphy has been kicked out of the house and that things are looking up. I pray for you and Jos every day and that you can move in soon to a nice clean finished house. Take care my friend.
Cindy
Aww Heidi, I am so sorry things are not going well. I will pray that things will start working our for you better! With much love!!
Wow Heidi, this is quite some project you and Jos have let yourselves in for. These unexpected problems are no picnic.
At the end of the tunnel there's a beautiful revamped home though.
Hou je taai,
love, Margaret
Hello Heidi - I feel such a fool. I'd been so worried about you because you hadn't posted and finally today I remembered your Cranberry Chronicle blog and went hunting, and here you are in all your new-house trauma! I'm so sorry you're going through all this - but one thing's for sure....with all the work you're putting into it this house will well and truly be yours when you're finished.
xo
Oh, Heidi, I hope things are better. All of this is so upsetting. May you soon be sitting cozily in your new home with all repairs and renovations complete and perfect.
Boy I have been gone too long! You're finally moving! I am so happy for you, though I know these set backs can be so disheartening!
This too shall pass!
I need to go back and read all about what you've been up to, old friend!
Happy Autumn!
Love,
Terri
