How do you bring an autumn atmosphere to a room that has colors like pink, sage green, cream, soft yellow and beige? Those are the colors in my patchwork quilt I made for my bedroom. I love bringing the different seasons to my home but this room looks and feels like spring and summer.
So this weekend, when I found these pretty planters on sale for 50% off, I knew they would go perfectly in that room. They remind me of a piece of pretty old chintz fabric. I found some candle wreaths in the Christmas items at the same garden center and they worked so nicely in them but did not fit. So I cut the ring and could wrap them small enough to fit just right. Topped with a pinecone gives me a feeling of autumn in pink.
Do you have any unusual ways to bring autumn to a room that does not exactly work with typical autumn colors? I would love to hear your ideas.

Heidi,
What absolutely beautiful planters and just the kind of thing that would go with my decor. We are definitely chintzy in chez Sweby :>)
I do love to bring the seasons into the house and find that is helped by having very large French doors opening both from our kitchen and our lounge straight into our large garden but as an actual Autumn decoration, I have a lovely display of cut Chinese lanterns which glow with Autumn brightness in a large jug and I also like to bring in some fresh golden coloured foliage. I don't think Natures colours can ever really clash with our decor. What do you think :>)

Noooooooo, I do not, I just leave it all the same. LOL. I do not have your ambition to keep changing things. I have a hard time even doing Christmas now. Sorry.
Love you, Mom
The planters are really pretty that you found.
I love!!!

Autumncolours are not really my colours, I'm all for pinks and fuchsia's and mauves and purples, but hey, heather is autumnal and that is withing my spectrum... so there you go, my colour, but still autumn ;-)

Very pretty! I just love the colors and decorating for fall!
You are so creative! I just plunk my fall decor items around and remove those that seem to fit another season.
Nice idea Heidi.
I just bring in branches of beautiful Autumn berries and put them in vases....I do leave some for the birds, of course!
Most of my house is done in "autumn colors" so fall is not a problem with me! Now, spring...that's a different matter!
I think you did well with those planters...That could go all the way through Christmas really...
