I do remember a period of illness about ten years ago when my mom's blue and beige afghan was wrapped around me like a comforting hug. Things made by hand, things made with love...things made to last!Vickinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5705614339233542950.post-79481684873876914712011-11-07T12:32:05.166-08:002011-11-07T12:32:05.166-08:00In winter I like to curl up under a warm wool blan...In winter I like to curl up under a warm wool blanket with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate. They are really great for decoration purposes as I can see on many of your pictures.
If I want to feel cozy sit on my stitching couch with all my WIPs, my current book and a cup of hot tea, and then I decide what I want to do - stitch or read, lol.Brigittehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03922122091202289138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5705614339233542950.post-37101137322328100192011-11-05T21:36:02.869-07:002011-11-05T21:36:02.869-07:00I have an afghan and a soft blanket on the couches...I have an afghan and a soft blanket on the couches in the living room, but my cats somehow seem to claim them before I can get to them! As for quilts, I recently obtained two of them for our guest room in progress. One quilt belonged to the aunt of a dear family friend who is now is his 80's. He slept under this quilt as a boy at his aunt's house. It mainly has light green and yellow in it. The other quilt, my mom bought at a little resale shop and was going to resell it on eBay until I claimed it, hee hee. It is very cheerful, with bright, primary colored butterflies on it. Can't wait to use these quilts once we get a bed in the guest room!Melaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08659968511488397366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5705614339233542950.post-37979354484399793172011-11-04T05:23:19.223-07:002011-11-04T05:23:19.223-07:00I have several afghans that my mother made and are...I have several afghans that my mother made and are so precious to me. I leave them out all year, but come the fall and winter, they are more than decorative. I love all the colors, textures, and fragrances of fall, especially flannel sheets!DonnaTNhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16632155244794417553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5705614339233542950.post-76153326414821736252011-11-04T05:20:34.678-07:002011-11-04T05:20:34.678-07:00I have lots of quilts that I made and lots of afgh...I have lots of quilts that I made and lots of afghans that my youngest daughter made.

I liked the idea of hanging the baby dress with the quilt in your picture. I have a crocheted lap blanket over the arm of my recliner in the bedroom that I throw over my legs all winter long. I also love my shawls, some crocheted, one made of wool.
